My stay at The Wick was quite a good experience, despite a few minor downsides. The hotel's renovation from an old candle factory is stunning, showcasing elegant decor and spacious rooms. The service was exemplary, with staff always ready to assist. however, the immediate neighborhood lacked charm and felt somewhat neglected. Overall, I'd definitely return for another stay.

Rooms

My king suite had high ceilings and classy mid-century modern decor, providing a spacious and comfortable atmosphere. The bathroom was large and felt luxurious, although the quirky lighting setup was a bit confusing. Still, the room was clean and modern, which made for a pleasant stay.
Service
10.0
The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making my experience more enjoyable. they even surprised me with handwritten notes and thoughtful gestures like a welcome bottle of wine. This level of service really enhances the boutique feel of the hotel.
Location
7.0
While the hotel is conveniently close to Warren Street and its local shops and restaurants, the immediate surroundings seemed a bit run-down, detracting from the overall aesthetic of the experience. However, access to the train station was a definite plus.

Room service was a treat, especially the cheese & bacon omelet served on a brioche bun! The breakfast options were good and reasonably priced. The bar area was also a nice spot to relax after a day out, with a cozy atmosphere and tasty drinks.
Facilities
8.0
The hotel provided great amenities, including good Wi-Fi for working remotely, complimentary coffee and breakfast items, and even pet-friendly policies. Though I noted a small security issue with the rear parking door, overall, the facilities were well-maintained.

My stay at The Wick had its ups and downs. The location is fantastic, just a short walk to downtown Hudson, but my room was situated on the first floor, which felt more like a basement. It didn't have the abundance of natural light I was hoping for, making it a bit claustrophobic. While the hotel's decor was tastefully modern, and the on-site dining options were convenient, I encountered some challenges with parking and issues with my credit card being charged multiple times, which left a sour note on my overall experience.

Rooms

The room was spacious yet felt underground. It had a small window that made it feel confining after a while.
Service

The staff tried to be helpful, but I faced issues that weren't adequately addressed. My credit card was erroneously charged multiple times due to a glitch.
Location

The location was one of the best aspects. It was a quick walk to all the shopping and dining downtown, but parking was limited.

I had a nice stay at The Wick, Hudson, enjoying the modern and clean rooms, and the excellent customer service from the staff. However, my experience was dampened by a frustrating breakfast situation due to understaffing, which affected service speed. Overall, despite a couple of hiccups, I'd recommend this boutique hotel for its charm and convenient location near local attractions. 😊

My room was clean, modern, and beautifully decorated, with comfortable beds that ensured a good night's sleep. I appreciated the great lighting and spacious layout. However, I noticed that not all rooms offer natural light, which could be an issue for some guests.

The staff at the hotel were incredibly friendly and helpful, making sure I felt welcome. They did their best despite being understaffed during my visit. Small touches, like a handwritten note and wine upon check-in, really enhanced my experience. 🌟

Breakfast options were complimentary, although the service was slow due to staff shortages. I enjoyed the coffee and the offerings were adequate, but they need to improve on speed.

I had a solid stay at The Wick, Hudson, although there were some ups and downs. My first room was small and a bit lackluster, but I was really happy to be moved to a spacious one with amazing views. The complimentary breakfast was nice, but the awkward paper tea cups were a letdown. Overall, I enjoyed the friendly staff and the hotel’s prime location near Warren Street, which made exploring the area super convenient.

Rooms
7.0
The hotel has a mix of rooms; my first one was cramped and faced a construction site, but my second room was spacious with floor-to-ceiling windows and great views of the Catskills. I also appreciated the large bathroom, but I did find the bedding a tad too soft for my liking.
Service
6.0
The staff were welcoming and friendly, which really added to the experience. However, I did encounter some awkward moments at the front desk regarding bedding for the sofa bed, which felt a bit off given the price we paid.
Location
9.0
The hotel’s location is fantastic, just two blocks from Warren Street, making it super easy to explore shops and restaurants. Plus, being close to the Amtrak station was a huge bonus for travel.
Dining
7.0
I enjoyed the simple breakfast options, but I think they should switch to real mugs instead of paper cups for sit-down meals. The tea and coffee were decent, but I’d definitely recommend hitting a local café for something more special.
Facilities
6.0
The facilities are well-maintained and modern. I especially liked the spacious lobby and the bar area, which seemed like a great spot to unwind. However, there were a couple issues with cleanliness in the bathroom and room, which detracted from the experience.

7.0/10

I had a mixed experience at The Wick. The hotel has a unique charm, being a converted candle factory, and the location is super convenient for exploring Hudson. However, I faced some cleanliness issues that were disappointing, especially given the price I was paying. Overall, the stay had its highlights, but it could use some attention to detail.

Rooms
5.0
I found the room spacious with nice decor, but cleanliness was a big issue. I noticed long hairs in the sheets and towels, which totally detracted from my experience. The room was supposed to be luxurious, but the cleanliness just wasn't up to par.
Service
6.0
The front desk staff was friendly, which was nice. However, when I reported the cleanliness issues and my slip in the tub, the responses felt a bit indifferent. I did appreciate the gestures like extra Bonvoy points and breakfast, but I wish they had been more proactive.
Location
8.0
The location is perfect, just a short walk from Warren Street, which is packed with shops and eateries. Plus, being close to the Amtrak station made getting around a breeze. I loved having everything within walking distance.
Dining
6.0
Breakfast was decent but could use improvement. I really wanted real mugs instead of paper cups for my coffee. It was a nice touch that it was included, but the dining experience overall felt a bit lacking for the price.
Facilities
5.0
While the hotel has a nice bar and a small gym, I expected more for the price. There were limited facilities, and I felt the hotel could enhance the experience with better amenities to match the reputation.
